You want to be able to enjoy parenting, but all you feel is overwhelmed.
In August 2024, the Surgeon General released an Advisory on the critical levels of stress that many parents face. I’d guess that not many parents were surprised by these findings, because it’s their reality every day.
Our generation of parents is more involved with our children than any before us, yet more parents feel that they are falling short than ever before. You’re drowning under calendars and schedules and to-do lists. You worry that your kids aren’t getting enough new experiences, yet you crave a slower pace for your family. You feel so reactive to your kids’ behavior, and you don’t know what to do besides yelling and punishing them.
It feels like you never have time to actually connect with your partner, and the mental load is overwhelming. This isn’t what you imagined it would be like. You love your kids more than anything but you struggle to actually enjoy them, and this makes you feel so guilty.
You are not alone, and you absolutely deserve more support. No matter what stage of parenting you’re at, you need someone in your corner to help you handle and reduce the stress that you’re carrying. Together, we will work to:
clarify your values for your family so that you can align yourself with what really matters
improve communication and division of labor with your partner to reduce mental overwhelm
develop strategies for connecting with your kids to deepen your relationship with them
challenge unhealthy cultural expectations (from society or your own childhood) that drives you into more stress
identify ways that you can prioritize your own mental health to reduce feelings of burnout
As a society, we can do better for ourselves and our kids. I can help you start that change within yourself and your family.
